HUSBAND'S LETTER
A husband wrote the following letter for his wife and left it on the dining room table:
'To My Dear Wife,
You will surely understand that I have certain needs that you, being 54years old, can no longer satisfy. I am very happy with you, and I value youas a good wife. Therefore, after reading this letter I hope you will not wrongly interpret the fact that I will be spending the evening with my 18-year-old secretary at the Comfort Inn Hotel.
Please don't be upset - I should be back home before midnight.
'When the man came home late that night he found the following letter on the dining room table:
WIFE'S LETTER
'To My Dear Husband,
I received your letter and thank you for your honesty about me being 54 years old. I would like to take this opportunity to remind you that you are also 54 years old. As you know, I am a math teacher at our local college. I would like to inform you that while you're at the Comfort Inn, I will be at the Hotel Fiesta with Michael, one of my students, who is also the assistant tennis coach. He is young, charming, and like your secretary, he is 18 years old. As a successful businessman with an excellent knowledge of math, you will understand that we are in the same situation, although with one small little difference; 18 goes into 54 a lot more times than 54 goes into 18.
Therefore I will not be home until sometime tomorrow.'
27-May-2008: British police charge 21-year-old in Harry Potter actor (Knox) knifing
LONDON - BRITISH police charged a 21-year-old man on Monday with the murder of a teenage actor who had a part in the next Harry Potter film due out in November.
Karl Bishop will appear at Bexley Magistrates' Court in south-east London on Tuesday charged with the murder of 18-year-old Rob Knox outside the Metro Bar in the suburb of Sidcup on Saturday evening.
Knox, who played student Marcus Belby in 'Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince', was killed in a scuffle, with friends suggesting his slaying could have been a revenge attack following a row over a phone last week.
The murder takes to 14 the number of teenagers violently killed in the English capital this year.
A man came to the bar in Sidcup armed with two knives and was seen waving one of them around through the window.
A scuffle broke out and Knox and his brother Jamie were reportedly trying to protect each other.
Several others are said to have sustained knife wounds.
The brothers' friends Tom Hopkins, 18, and Tarik Ozress, 17, managed to pin the armed man down, wrestling with him for several minutes before police arrived.
Knox was taken to hospital and pronounced dead.
In a statement shortly after his death, Knox's parents Colin and Sally said: 'Rob was kind and thoughtful and would always help out others.
'The life and soul of the party, he was very outgoing, loved sports, and would always strike up a conversation with people.
'He was respectful to others and adored by all his family and friends.'
Film producers Warner Bros said: 'We are all shocked and saddened by this news and at this time our sympathies are with his family.' -- AFP
What is Anxiety?
Although it's normal to feel anxious from time to time, if you feel anxious without reason and if these worries persist and affect your day-to-day life, you may have generalized anxiety disorder.
Symptoms of generalized anxiety disorder may include restlessness, feeling tense or on edge, irritability, impatience, or poor concentration.
People may also notice changes in their physical health such as headaches, jaw pain, muscle tension, difficulty falling or staying asleep (insomnia), dry mouth, fatigue, chest tightness, indigestion, bloating, excessive sweating, and headache.
It's important to be evaluated by your doctor for a proper diagnosis and to rule out other medical problems that may resemble anxiety.
Natural Remedies for Anxiety
The herb passionflower (Passiflora incarnata) was used as a folk remedy for anxiety and insomnia. Two studies involving a total of 198 people examined the effectiveness of passionflower for anxiety. One study found passionflower to be comparable to benzodiazepine drugs. There was also improvement in job performance with passionflower and less drowsiness with passionflower compared with the drug mexazolam, however, neither was statistically significant.
Side effects of passionflower may include nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, and rapid heartbeat. The safety of passionflower in pregnant or nursing women, children, or people with kidney or liver disease has not been established. There have been five case reports in Norway of people becoming temporarily impaired mentally after using a combination product containing passionflower. It's not known whether the other ingredients in the supplement played a role.
Passionflower should not be taken with sedatives unless under medical supervision. Passionflower may enhance the effect of pentobarbital, a medication used for sleep and seizure disorders.
Bodywork
Massage therapy, Shiatsu, and other forms of bodywork are widely used to diminish muscle tension, relieve stress, and improve sleep.
Mind/Body Techniques
Mind/body breathing exercises, physical exercise, yoga, tai chi, self-hypnosis, meditation, and biofeedback are just some of the stress reduction techniques used for anxiety. Try different techniques and determine which routine you can stick to with a hectic schedule.
Valerian
The herb valerian (Valeriana officinalis) is best known as a herbal remedy for insomnia. Valerian is also used in patients with mild anxiety, but the research supporting its use for anxiety is limited.
For example, researchers with the Cochrane Collaboration reviewed studies on valerian for anxiety. Only one study met their quality criteria. It was a four-week study comparing valerian, the medication diazepam (Valium), and a placebo in 36 people with generalized anxiety disorder. No statistically signficant differences were found between the groups, perhaps due to the small size of the study.
Valerian is usually taken an hour before bedtime. It takes about two to three weeks to work and shouldn't be used for more than three months at a time. Side effects of valerian may include mild indigestion, headache, palpitations, and dizziness. Although valerian tea and liquid extracts are available, most people don't like the smell of valerian and prefer taking the capsule form.
Valerian shouldn't be taken with many medications, especially those that depress the central nervous system, such as sedatives and antihistamines. Valerian shouldn't be taken with alcohol, before or after surgery, or by people with liver disease. It should not be used before driving or operating machinery. Consultation with a qualified health practitioner is recommended. For more information about valerian, read the Valerian Fact Sheet.
Kava
Native to Polynesia, the herb kava (Piper methysticum) has been found to have anti-anxiety effects in humans.
The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), however, has issued an advisory to consumers about the potential risk of severe liver injury resulting from the use of dietary supplements containing kava. To date, there have been more than 25 reports of serious adverse effects from kava use in other countries, including four patients who required liver transplants.
Gamma-aminobutyric Acid (GABA)
GABA is an amino acid that is known to play a role in the physiology of anxiety. Some prescription drugs for anxiety work by affecting GABA receptors in the brain. The degree to which orally ingested GABA supplements can reach the brain, however, is unknown.
Aromatherapy
Plant essential oils can be added to baths, massage oil, or infusers. Essential oils that are used for anxiety and nervous tension are: bergamot, cypress, geranium, jasmine, lavender, Melissa, neroli, rose, sandalwood, ylang-ylang. Lavender is the most common and forms the base of many relaxing blends.

Deadly Fruit....!
One day in the forest, 3 guys were just hiking along a trail when all of a sudden, a huge pack of Indians attaked them and knocked them out.
When they woke up, they were at the leader of the tribe's throne. The chief then said "All of your lives may be spared if you can find ten of one fruit and bring them back to me." So after a while, the first man returned with 10 apples. The chief then ordered him to stick all ten of them up his butt without making any expression at all on his face. He had a little bit of trouble with the first one and started crying while trying to put the next one in. He was soon killed.
Later, the next guy came in with 10 grapes. The chief soon ordered him to do the same as the first guy. After to the 9th grape, the man started laughing so hard for no apparent reason, and was killed.
The first two guys soon met in heaven and the first guy ask the second, "Why did you start laughing? You only needed one more grape and you'd have gotten away!
"The second guy answered while still laughing, "I couldn't help it, I saw the third guy walking in with durian."

I feel that I still got a lot of room for growth. Decision making is very important, made one today. I believe that the decision I made is reasonable and will be good in the long run, since there are so much for me to focus and carry on forward.
Remember this saying from my friend:
You can always delete what you don't like or want in the computer but in reality, you cannot do it. Whatever you do, no matter how small or big the matter is, will definitely affect those around you.
Cheers to my friends reading my blog, in whatever you do, hope you will love it and excel. ^^

Wednesday:
Went down to Pasir Ris straight after work and arrived at Downtown East, NTUC chalet, at around 7.30 pm. Thought that I would be later than Rayner and Adeline they all but instead, I was the earliest among them. Among all the people there, there was none I know except the birthday girl, Siyun, whom I only met with once, during the KTV session at the PartyWorld near Somerset MRT Station. She was very hospitable and offered me food and drinks. Luckily, 2 of Siyun's friends were very friendly and chatted with me. One of them is a very gorgeous lady, who is so mature for her age, unlike some girls of the same age. You wouldn't believe she is 20~21. Sadly, I wasn't that outgoing enough to get her name and number, haha. Anyway, she will make a nice friend. The other person who talked to me was Dominic, he is a nice guy and saved me from the depths of the lone valley. At that moment, I felt his strong hands holding on to me and pulled me to safety. Haha.
Only at around 8.45 pm, then Rayner and the rest came. Could be mostly are tired from after work and didn't talk much. So we went on as a small group of the 3M's after Shiqi and her boyfriend went away, not to mention Adeline went too, to meet up with her friend. And so the 3M's went on talking abt the pretty girls at the table opposite and what we are going to do when Adeline returns.
.................................................................... After the long wait, at around 1.30 am, Adeline returned. We couldn't go anywhere, and headed to explore the shops at Downtown East a bit before heading home. Siyun was very kind enough to send us to near the exit when we left.
Last but not least, a happy 21st birthday for Siyun and hope she will get to her dreams and goals soon. ^^
Friday:
After work, we (Chloe, Ivy, Selena, Junsheng, Michael, Tristan, Yong Hock, Yong Wei & Me) went to CCK Lot 1's Hong Kong Cafe to have dinner. Evangeline joined us for food when we were near finishing. The serving for the food there is huge and the price is affordable. I would recommend if you are very hungry. Haha. Some of the meat in the dishes we ordered were quite tough, like Tristan's pork chop and Ivy's chicken.
After dinner, we went upstairs to Minitoons to take a look at the soft toys. The variety of the soft toys can easily knock me out. That's how many different types of soft toys I am talking about. Eventually we didn't buy any and went upstairs to sing KTV. Then, someone said, "I thought the KTV here closed already?". OMG, poor planning leads to near disaster.
After discussion, we went to the KTV at Jurong East Entertainment Centre (Is this what they call it? =P). There are a couple of strong vocalists, Chloe for high pitch songs, Tristan for Huang Yi Da's and Jacky Zhang's songs, Weng Wei's Jukebox, Yong Hock's Rap, etc... We enjoyed the singing all the way till about 3 am.
The entire gathering was fun and relaxing. Thanks a lot you all~~!
Saturday:
Woke up at about 10.30 am and slacked for a while before going to meet Yong Wei to go to chalet. At first, we wanted to take bus 966 to ECP but Kang Wee offered to send us there (help him carry ice and watermelon).
We went to Boon Lay there to fetch Brodie and Xiao Li, and proceed to ECP. We reach there about nearly 5 pm and carried the boxes of bee hoon, chicken wings, fishballs, sotong, and not to mention the "6 kg" of prawns in. The weather did not pardon us even when we are carrying heavy stuffs, it was so hot that a few had to remove their shirts to feel cooler. Taking about cooler, we really felt very cold when we are transferring the prawns and preparing the beer. Haha.
Later, we got extra bags of charcoal and drinks as mixers for the hard liquor they brought. Can you imagine how well they can drink? 8 bottles of hard liquor and 5 bottles of wine. And 2 cartons of beer!! LOL.
At first I had 2 bottles of beer and some mixed liquor. And we chit chat and relax upstairs. Then we came down and enjoyed the BBQ and music by Richard. Had some hard and dry sweet potatoes, became someone's QC tester in the end. After which, we accompanied 2 girls, Missy and Vivian, out to Geylang to have some Dim Sum.
This Missy, never eat prawns still tell me to order so much with prawns. In the end, I had to stuff them in. >.< My stomach was swimming with schools of prawns... Luckily the nice barley and wintermelon dessert managed to save me. This is not the end as the beancurd that Missy could not finish ended up in my stomach too...
After food with them, we followed Jeremy's (Michael's friend) car back to ECP and continued our drinking session. Michael could hold so much liquor and he drank mostly neat instead of having it with mixers. Our bowls had been filled to the rim and in the end, we kept them there to rear goldfishes ^^.
The entire week was very fun, since there's Labour Day and a nice weekend. I hope they would organise this kind of gathering more so that we can relax from stress over work~~
Cheers.
